The Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications, Government of India has announced the India Post GDS Recruitment for 21,413 Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) posts, including Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM), and Dak Sevak positions. Vacancy Details

1. Branch Postmaster (BPM):
  • Overall management of the branch post office.
  • Handling postal operations, customer service, and financial transactions.
  • Responsible for revenue generation and sales of postal products.
2. Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM):
  • Assisting BPM in branch post office operations.
  • Delivering mail and handling financial transactions.
  • Promoting India Post Payment Bank (IPPB) services.
3. Dak Sevak:
  • Mail conveyance and delivery.
  • Assisting in branch post office work.
  • Handling postal products and services.

Application Process

  • Candidates must apply online through the official portal: https://indiapostgdsonline.gov.in.
  • A valid mobile number and email ID are required for registration.
  • Candidates should upload their photograph and signature (other documents are not required at this stage).
  • Multiple applications will be rejected.

Payment of Fee

  1. Fee Amount:
    • A non-refundable application fee of Rs. 100/- (Rupees One Hundred only) is applicable for all posts in the selected division.
    • Exemptions: Female applicants, SC/ST applicants, PwD applicants, and Transwomen applicants are exempted from paying the fee.
  2. Mode of Payment:
    • Applicants (except those exempted) can make the payment through any online mode using the provided payment link.
    • Accepted payment methods: Credit/Debit Cards, Net Banking, and UPI.
    • Applicable transaction charges for Debit/Credit Cards and Net Banking will be levied as per banking rules.
  3. Important Instructions:
    • Applicants must note their Registration Number and keep it secure for fee payment.
    • The fee once paid is non-refundable. Candidates should ensure they meet the eligibility criteria for their selected division before making the payment.
    • Exempted applicants can proceed with the online application directly without making any payment.

Reservation Policy
  • SC/ST/OBC/PwD/EWS reservations as per government norms.
  • EWS candidates get a 10% reservation but no age relaxation.

Selection Process for India Post GDS Recruitment

  • No Written Exam – Selection is based on the 10th standard merit list.
  • Shortlisted candidates must verify original documents.
  • Provisional selection is subject to document verification and medical fitness.

Physical Verification Process

  1. The GDS Online Portal will release the list of shortlisted applicants for engagement. The authorities will notify selected candidates via SMS and email about their selection and the schedule for physical verification. Candidates must regularly check the official website for updates.
  2. Shortlisted candidates must report to the designated Divisional/Unit Head for physical document verification within 15 days. Failure to report will result in automatic cancellation of candidature.
  3. After successful verification, candidates will receive a provisional engagement offer.
  4. Candidates must complete pre-engagement formalities within 30 days, including a 3-day basic training and other joining requirements. Failure to join within the stipulated period will lead to the cancellation of the candidature.
  5. Non-submission of caste certificates (if applicable) within 15 days of the provisional engagement offer will also result in cancellation.
  6. After authorities verify documents and the police complete verification, the final engagement order will be issued.
  7. If candidates fail to verify documents, complete joining formalities, or resign within 30 days, the system will cancel their candidature and issue supplementary lists.
  8. The final engagement process will conclude by 30th June 2025, unless extended by the Department.
