
State Bank of India (SBI) has released the official employment notification for the recruitment of 13735 Junior Associate ( Customer Support and Sales – SBI clerk ) vacancies in the clerical cadre in various branches of SBI across the country.
Candidates can apply for vacancies in one State/UT only. Candidates can appear for the test only once under this recruitment project. The candidates applying for vacancies in a particular State/ UT should be proficient (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding) in the specified opted local language of that State/UT.

Age Limit
Candidates’ age should not be below 20 years and not above 28 years as of 01.04.2024, i.e. candidates must have been born not earlier than 02.04.1996 and not later than 01.04.2004 (both days inclusive).

Educational Qualification for SBI Clerk
- Candidates must be Graduates in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. Candidates having integrated dual degree (IDD) certificates should ensure that the date of passing the IDD is on or before 31.12.2024.
- Final Year Candidates: Those who are in the final year/ semester of their graduation may also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, if provisionally selected, they will have to produce proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before 31.12.2024.
- Local Language Proficiency: The candidates applying for vacancies of a particular State/UT, should be proficient (reading, writing, speaking and understanding) in the specified opted local language of that State/UT. Candidates who provide a 10th or 12th standard mark sheet/certificate as proof of studying the specified local language do not need to take the language test.

Selection Process of SBI Clerk
The selection process of SBI Clerk Recruitment will consist of an online test (Preliminary & Main exam) and ta est of specified opted local language.
Phase-I: Preliminary Examination
- The Online Preliminary Exam will consist of Objective Tests for 100 marks and will be conducted online. This test would be of 1-hour duration consisting of 3 Sections as follows:

- Each test will have a separate timing as mentioned above. There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests. The system will deduct 1/4th of the assigned marks for each wrong answer. It does not prescribe minimum qualifying marks for individual tests or the aggregate score. It will not maintain section-wise marks.
- The Bank will shortlist an adequate number of candidates in each category (approximately 10 times the number of vacancies, subject to availability) for the Main Exam from the list of all candidates arranged in descending order of aggregate marks scored.

- There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests. For each wrong answer, the examiner will deduct 1/4th of the marks assigned for the question.
- Candidates must score a minimum percentage of marks on aggregate (with a 5% relaxation available for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/ESM/DESM candidates). The minimum qualifying marks on aggregate will be decided by the bank. There are no prescribed minimum qualifying marks for individual subjects. We will not maintain section-wise marks.
- The authorities will draw the merit list state-wise and category-wise. Candidates who qualify in the test (main examination) will be placed in descending order according to their aggregate marks in their respective states and categories.
Important Point
- No language exam will be administered to those who meet the requirements for selection and can provide a certificate or mark sheet from their 10th or 12th grade that shows they have studied the chosen local language. After provisional selection but before joining, a specific local language test will be administered to those who are eligible for selection.
- Candidates who fail to qualify for this test will not be offered an appointment. Candidates not found proficient in the specified opted local language would be disqualified.
Final Selection
- The final merit list will consider only the total scores from the Main Examination (Phase II); it will not include the scores from the Preliminary Examination (Phase I) for selection. The candidate’s performance in the Main Examination will determine their provisional selection.
