Eligibility Criteria for The Supreme Court of India
Age Limit:
- Candidates must be aged 20 to 32 years as of 07.02.2025.
Educational Qualification:
- Law Graduate:
- Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (including Integrated Law Courses) from a recognised institution approved by the Bar Council of India for enrolment as an Advocate.
- Final Year Students:
- Students in the 5th year of a Five-Year Integrated Law Course or the 3rd year of a Three-Year Law Course (post-graduation in any stream) may also apply, provided they submit proof of qualification before taking up the assignment.
- Skills Required:
- Research and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in writing.
- Knowledge of computer systems and legal databases such as e-SCR, Manupatra, SCC Online, LexisNexis, and Westlaw.
Method of Selection
The selection process for the post of Law Clerk-cum-Research Associate will be conducted in the following three phases:
- Part I: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
- Tests the candidate’s ability to:
- Understand and apply the law.
- Demonstrate comprehension skills.
- Tests the candidate’s ability to:
- Part II: Subjective Written Examination
- Evaluates the candidates’ skills in:
- Writing.
- Analytical reasoning.
- Evaluates the candidates’ skills in:
- Part III: Interview
- Personal interaction to assess the candidates’ overall suitability for the role.
